In week 5 we began to learn about how to work as a freelancer, an important part of building a portfolio and career. We discussed finances and how to see what you should be getting paid using BECTU as well as the different taxes to be paid and Insurance that would be needed.
We read the BBC guide to health and safety in order to see what the industry standard must be and what responsibilities we have on shoot. This was very helpful as it lets you know how important being covered is as from writing risk assessments myself I know how much can go wrong and we wouldn't want to be injured for no reason or with no cover
